I was raised reconstructionist so a lot of the silly rules of Judaism have been treated like rules of the Matrix. Some can be bent, others broken. But my girlfriend did something amazingly wonderful. Not being Jewish but being raised in NYC makes her almost honorary. Her also being a chef makes her take some interesting chances with Jewish cooking, often, as we all know, not always the most interesting. So one day a bit after Passover she was making me some matzohball soup. Picking up the discounted kosher for Passover mix she set to making them for me. But we did not have schmaltz in the house. We did have some bacon that morning so we had some bacon fat around.

Yes, she went there. Matzoh balls made with bacon fat! Oh they were tasty. Wrong, but so very good.

Just thought you all would get a laugh and a smile from that.
