Hi, My names Marquita and I am addicted to bacon.
I need professional help. I think of Bacon all day and cant stop thinking of it. I dont know what its like to not consume bacon and im worried if i stop that I will suddenly turn blue or worse, that i will wake up someday and not think of bacon.
Any one have any ideas for going(ulp) cold turkey?

Re: Bacon Addiction
Thu, April 14, 2005 - 8:20 AMHi Marquita,
I'm the Dixie Diva Queen and I too have a problem with bacon. The thing is I stopped eating red meat 17 years ago because I fear my love of bacon and sausage would kill me dead. But it hearty savory hickory scent still haunts me, luring me back to it's crisp chewy deliciousness. I salivate profusely at the smell of it. Fell off the Bacon truck last year when Mercury reached it's closest point to the earth. I blame the red planet for that 2 day Bacon Binge.
Will power Marquita, soy bacon and turkey bacon are missing the tastey fun fat. They just won't do. -

Fri, April 15, 2005 - 5:36 AM"soy bacon" is (made out of) people!
Hmm. People don't get satisfyingly crispy when you fry them in a pan. Better for marinades or stir-frys, methinks. I should consult my rabbi on this. -

Re: Bacon Addiction
Fri, November 11, 2005 - 8:43 AMHi, my name is Bre and I have a problem much similar to yours. I eat anywhere from 4-8 pieces of bacon a day and it's gotten to the point that I'm almost dependent on it and a lot of people are worried abuot my health. I need to try to find a way to quit eating it so much, or altogether. It's good to know there are other people out there like me. :) Hopefully we can find a way to get rid of this obsession. -

Re: Bacon Addiction
Mon, April 17, 2006 - 12:58 PMHere's how you might be able to quell the cravings. Buy nothing but bacon and east nothing but bacon and sides for an entire week. Bacon sandwiches, bacon ala king, bacon shrimp, bacon greens, bacon and bananas sprinkled with peanuts and cayanne, bacon bread pudding, bacon with potatoes, sour cream & cheese, bacon quiche you get the point. After a week you shouldn't want to see so much bacon for a long while.
Good luck
