I went to Washington state for a weekend to see a show at the Gorge. I drove with a friend about 180 miles east of seattle to a nowhere town called Othello, where my friend and I stayed for the weekend. There was this breakfast joint we hit up every morning we were there. I swear to god, up until that point, i had never ever had bacon that tasted as good and as fresh as it did in that town. i have still never had bacon that tasted the way it did in that town. i swore to myself i would never have bacon again so that i would remember the quality of bacon that i had that weekend. sadly, i'm bad bad jew, and i still eat the bacon, and i've forgotten how super duper that taste was.
So, that's about it. there's my story. talk amongst yourselves.

Fri, April 29, 2005 - 9:03 PMLiking bacon on its own merits doesn't make you a bad, bad jew. However, putting scallops wrapped in bacon on your cheeseburger may put you beyond the pale. Between that, my tattoos and Cat Stevens albums, I'm going straight to Jew hell--that is, if we believed in hell... -

Fri, June 17, 2005 - 3:16 PMThe best bacon I ever had was when I visited the Connecticut farm where my ex-boy toy grew up. Everything tasted better there: the fresh milk, the tomatoes from the garden, etc. but man, it was the bacon that blew me away. Next time you meet a farmer you should beat him up and steal his bacon. It's worth it.
